Contact UsOur entire staff is guided by Dr. Josef Schenker, a twenty year veteran in the medical profession. His expertise, compassion and leadership are the driving forces behind the quality of our care and service.
Dr. Schenker is the President and CEO of Medical Director Services which provides preeminent, 24/7 medical care to skilled nursing facilities across the country.
Prior to his role at Centers Healthcare, Dr. Schenker spent 14 years at NY Methodist Hospital, 10 of those as Medical Director of their ED, where he designed and implemented the EHR for the Emergency Department. He was the Director of ED Innovation, Telemedicine and Informatics where he oversaw the ED Telemedicine/Community Paramedicine program and all aspects of the EHR as they pertain to quality, safety, and patient satisfaction. During his tenure he sat on the hospital’s Informatics Committee as well as the Meaningful Use Task Force.
Dr. Schenker is Chair of the NYC Regional EMS Medical Advisory Committee, serves as Medical Director of the largest proprietary ambulance service in New York State and is a past Chair for the New York Presbyterian - Emergency Preparedness Committee. He obtained a BA in Biology in 1998 from Yeshiva University and received his MD from Loyola University Chicago, Stritch School of Medicine in 2002. After graduation, Dr. Schenker did a residency in Emergency Medicine at New York Methodist Hospital and a fellowship in Emergency Medical Services at the FDNY before returning to Methodist Hospital. Dr. Schenker recently completed his MBA at the University of Massachusetts - Amherst.
Dr. Schenker and his wife Debra have four children. He is a volunteer Emergency Physician for his local ambulance service, coaches varsity ice hockey and is an avid golfer.
